I had a really great weekend. I got to spend so much time with Camden in Philadelphia. The weather made it impossible not to be in some water. I was able to find a really great splash area to take Camden to and keep cool. I don’t know what it is about Philly but I just honestly love it there. There is so much to do all the time. So much to explore and see. Not to say it’s not a lot to do here in the nation’s capital.  But I have to be honest when I say that Philly is a much better city as far as activities and things to do.

With that being said we went to the splash area. Here are a few pictures of the park. It was really cool and a fun, free, alternative to a water park.

We also went to check out the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul. By far a very beautiful church. It was great to see how interested Camden was in knowing more about the Catholic religion and the building in general. He was able to light the offering candle and even went into the confession booth. I don’t know what it is about watching your child take in knowledge. I am sure other parents can see it too, but I love the look on a child’s face when they process a thing.

After leaving the church we went to the Academy of Natural Science Museum. I must say that the price of museums in Philadelphia is very high. I have never had to pay $25.00 for a child’s admission ticket into a museum in D.C. It was pretty cool to see the moving dinosaurs and the fossils. There was even a touching section where Camden got to pet different animals. We really had a fantastic day.

The night was even better! Coke was able to get off work a little earlier and Chubbs got to hang out with us too. We spent the rest of the evening hanging with friends. Coke has made it a point that I include how well of a job that he did with introducing me to his friends this weekend as his ‘girlfriend’. I will say he does a poor job of introducing me but, he has gotten much better *inserts roll eyes emoji*. All in all, I had a great weekend. What did you do this weekend?

  1. I love Philly! It’s one of my favorite cities to visit for the exact same reasons. There always seems to be something going on. Glad you enjoyed your visit 🙂
