Just When I Thought I Was Done

Just when I thought I was done with planning events and blogging, God set me up! Sent me three emails in one day that made me smack myself. I don’t know why I thought it would be that easy to walk away. There is no way that I can turn my back on the thing that makes me, momE! That thing being ME! I had a horrible event a few months back. Mix that with being recently married, relocating, not working, and having no family near me….THE STRUGGLE WAS REAL. It was hard after the failure of that event to pick my face up. It was hard after that…

The Art of Being Called a Nigger

This week I had the amazing pleasure of being completely disrespected. And it forced me to reflect. I’ve always thought about how I would proceed with raising my boys in this new age racist world. But it’s never really hit me until this week, exactly what they could be dealing with.  As an African American you watch movies on slavery and racism and what not. Then you look to your friends and say “man I’m so glad I didn’t grow up in those days because I would have…” not even really knowing that we had no idea what these men and women were up against.  I got to talking to…

    Suddenly Sullivan Wedding Video

IT’S FINALLY HERE!!! You can now hear and see Corey and I’s wedding video. The best part about this is that it was done by a really silly friend of mine. I did’t want anything unlike us, stiff. I wanted someone to really catch the essence of who we are and get us in the moments. Tenoiya caught the vows, out horrible dance moves, the funny toast, Corey crying, my sisters, dad, and me singing to Beyonce, and my favorite part of our boys running to the playground. I literally cry every time that I watch it. Not to mention she used all of our favorite songs, shout out to…

    #Talk30ToMe

I am going with the trend guys. Moving forward I will post my events via my blog and showcase not only the event but my amazing clients. So please check out my first client for my new and improved website, Erin!! It was a joy working for her. When I say easy I really mean it. She came to the table with just one idea and that was that she didn’t want her party to be too girly but yet stand apart too. She had a hashtag and I had an idea: #Talk30tome . I must say when you leave it in the hands of the planner you generally end…

    The Suddenly Sullivan Wedding

I AM FINALLY MARRIED!!! Which means two things: 1.) I am back blogging 2.) I am ready to share all about the wedding   I know my readers are ready to hear and see all about the wedding. Well I must first start by saying that I am so glad it’s over!! But so happy to be married to my Best Friend. Craziest thing is that we are now 1 month in! Time went so fast and I am really adjusting well to the married life. The boys are having a blast and with me not working right now I have more time to really focus on my business, my…

    30 or Whatever

The Big 3-0! Turning 30 has meant so much to me. A few years ago I would have been more excited about the party that I wanted to plan for this major birthday accomplishment rather than the goals I would have reached getting here. On my 30th birthday I took a mental trip down memory lane and was so overwhelmed by how much I have accomplished. Of course I wanted a party to celebrate too. But let anyone from my family and Coke included tell you, “You can’t have a party and a wedding”. So I was stuck with the wedding. I guess that’s more important anyhow. But no really!…

    Single Mom Race

The hardest thing I have had to do with getting married and blending our families, has been learning to turn off being a single mom. For almost 6 years I have been the only parent. I have had to spank Camden and then cuddle him after. I have had to make all the decisions. It’s is so hard to play both roles in parenting. Mostly because you have to train yourself as a woman to go against your maternal instincts. As women we are caring and nurturing first. We have more compassion than the dads usually do. We are the ones that fight for our children to have their way. But…

    Family First in 2017

I have been getting a lot of heat for not blogging. I know all my readers miss me and honestly I miss you guys too!! It has been a struggle to try to find something to write about. Not that I don’t have anything to say, because of course there are things. But what I have noticed is that since the engagement I am a lot more focused on getting ready for marriage than I am on writing. The thing that happens once you get engaged is that you start to line your ducks up in a row. Coke and I have spent so much time trying to figure things…

    Engagement Shoot

Hello everyone!!!!!  I know I know I’ve been missing in action! But I had to share with you all my engagement Shoot!  We had the pleasure of working with a really amazing photographer Jendayi! She really captured the true essence of us. From my goofy side, to Corey’s super mushy kisses! To all of my readers looking for a photographer she is the real deal. I’m super picky about who I work with and definitely who I let in on the intimate moments of my wedding. But hands down Jendayi was DA BOMB DOT COM! I admonish you all to check her out. She is doing one of my client’s…
