The Fourth of July was a downer this year. I haven’t had a real 4th in DC since I was a child and I was really excited about getting the boys out there for the fireworks and just have a great time. Instead it rained and turned into a scary movie night with my family and Coke was there too. Which, if I am being honest, was a pretty fun time. We ended up making the best of the weekend but I had wished for more. I think it’s a sign that I need to continue with the tradition of being out of town for the holiday.
Nevertheless, here are a few clips of us at the Long Bridge Park in Arlington, VA. We actually had a blast! There was face painting, balloon animals, food trucks, ice-cream, playground, walk-on dodge ball games and a great view of the fireworks. If it hadn’t rained the entire time it would have been amazing. As usual the kids acted a natural fool and drove us insane, but all and all, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
